Responsible Business Practices

Sustainability is vital to our long-term survival and social standing as a corporate member of the society. To this end, Salvic conducts its operations in a responsible manner in line with global best practices. Our business processes and innovative solutions ensure utmost respect for our people, their wellbeing and safety, minimal adverse effects to the environment and positive impact on our communities.

Communities

Salvic will always prioritize mutually respectful relationships with its host communities to ensure a peaceful and beneficial operating environment. Our goal is to achieve zero (0) disruption to operations that are attributable to community issues by being in alignment on shared values with host communities. The guiding principle is simply that we remain true to the commitments we make and carry along the host communities as we constantly evolve towards a better and sustainable future.

Socio-Economic Impact

Our commitment is to support sustainable development within the communities through shared prosperity. Our approach is to work with the Community leadership and relevant non-profit resource organisations to ascertain the socio-economic developmental needs, then support community initiatives and implement innovative programs designed to bring visible, transformational and sustainable socio-economic development to the communities where we operate.

Focus areas for our corporate social investments include:
Health

To tackle the prevailing health challenges in our operating communities, we will work with relevant experts and practitioners to ensure that intervention programs are impactful in the immediate term and sustainable in the long-term. We will place emphasis on vulnerable groups such as young girls, women and children.

Education

Salvic is committed to improving the standard of education and quality of technical skills in the communities. Our education programs will include the provision of Scholarships to Secondary and Tertiary students, Training and Skills Acquisition for Teachers and other innovative programmes to encourage and engage young people’s participation in the transformation of their communities.

Infrastructure

Effective community development is often hampered by the lack of appropriate infrastructure such as roads, medical facilities, power supply, amongst others. Salvic will help boost the local economic development by investment in infrastructure development initiatives.

Economic Empowerment

We will support entrepreneurs and SMEs through capacity building to help grow the local economies and create jobs.

Employee Charity Initiatives

Salvic encourages independently conceived charity initiatives that are funded through voluntary donations by its employees. Beneficiary organisations of such initiatives are selected by employees from a pool of identified local and national charities.
